Cardiovascular System

The cardiovascular system consists of the blood, vessels and heart. The blood and is responsible for transporting oxygen, carbon dioxide nutrients, hormones and cells to and from body tissues. The blood is able to move through the contractions of the heart and blood vessels. The heart beats about 100,00 times a day and pumps about 5 litres of blood a minute.
