Non-toxic multinodular goitre is an enlarged thyroid gland characterised by multiple nodules without evidence of thyroid hormone overproduction or malignancy. It matters clinically because it can cause compressive symptoms such as dysphagia or airway obstruction and may require monitoring or intervention. A key association is iodine deficiency, which often contributes to its development in endemic areas.
