Low saturation

Low saturation refers to a reduced level of oxygen saturation in the blood, typically measured as a percentage of haemoglobin binding sites occupied by oxygen. Clinically, low saturation indicates inadequate oxygen delivery to tissues, which can lead to hypoxia and organ dysfunction. This condition is commonly associated with respiratory disorders, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), where impaired gas exchange exacerbates the risk of respiratory failure.
