Hepatic Carcinoma

Hepatic carcinoma, commonly known as hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is a primary liver malignancy arising from hepatocytes, often linked to chronic liver disease, particularly cirrhosis and hepatitis B or C infections. It is clinically significant due to its aggressive nature, late presentation, and poor prognosis, making early detection crucial for management. A key complication of HCC is portal hypertension, which can lead to variceal bleeding and further morbidity.
