Acute anterior uveitis

Acute anterior uveitis is sudden inflammation of the iris and ciliary body, causing eye pain, redness, photophobia, and blurred vision. It is clinically important as it can lead to complications like synechiae or glaucoma if untreated. A key association is with HLA-B27-related autoimmune conditions, such as ankylosing spondylitis.
