Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS)

Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune disorder characterised by the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies, leading to an increased risk of thrombosis and pregnancy complications. It is clinically significant as it can result in recurrent venous or arterial clots, and is often associated with conditions like systemic lupus erythematosus. A key complication of APS is the occurrence of deep vein thrombosis, which can lead to significant morbidity if not managed appropriately.
