Cushing’s disease

Cushing's disease is a condition caused by an ACTH-secreting pituitary adenoma leading to excessive cortisol production by the adrenal glands. It is clinically important due to its characteristic features of hypercortisolism, including central obesity, hypertension, and glucose intolerance, which increase morbidity. A key complication is osteoporosis, resulting from prolonged cortisol excess.
