Exertional paresthesia refers to abnormal sensations such as tingling, numbness, or burning that occur during or immediately after physical activity. It is clinically important as it may indicate underlying nerve compression, vascular insufficiency, or metabolic disturbances triggered by exercise. A common association is peripheral artery disease, where reduced blood flow during exertion leads to nerve ischemia and sensory symptoms.
