Fascial mechanics refers to the study of the biomechanical properties and functional behaviour of fascia, the connective tissue network that surrounds muscles, bones, nerves, and organs. Understanding fascial mechanics is crucial in clinical practice because alterations in fascial tension or mobility can contribute to pain syndromes, restricted movement, and impaired tissue healing. For example, myofascial pain syndrome arises from dysfunctional fascial mechanics causing trigger points and referred pain.
