Gloassary term:

Homogeneous

Homogeneous describes a substance or tissue with a uniform composition or structure throughout, lacking variation in its physical or chemical properties. In clinical practice, recognising homogeneity in imaging or pathology helps differentiate benign from malignant lesions, as uniformity often suggests a less aggressive process. For example, a homogeneous liver lesion on ultrasound is more likely to be a simple cyst rather than a complex tumour.
