Libman-Sacks endocarditis

Libman-Sacks endocarditis is a form of non-bacterial endocarditis characterized by the presence of sterile vegetations on heart valves, commonly associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). It is clinically significant as it can lead to valvular dysfunction, embolic events, and contribute to the overall morbidity in patients with autoimmune disorders. A key complication includes the potential for heart failure due to valve insufficiency.
