Midodrine

Midodrine is an alpha-1 adrenergic agonist used primarily to treat orthostatic hypotension, a condition characterised by significant drops in blood pressure upon standing. It works by causing vasoconstriction, thereby increasing blood pressure and improving symptoms of dizziness and fainting. Clinically, it is important for managing patients with autonomic dysfunction or those on dialysis, but it can cause supine hypertension as a notable complication.
