A myofascial compartment is a distinct anatomical space within a limb, enclosed by rigid fascial layers that contain groups of muscles, nerves, and blood vessels. Its clinical importance lies in the fact that increased pressure within this confined space can compromise circulation and nerve function, leading to compartment syndrome. This condition, often resulting from trauma or swelling, requires prompt diagnosis and intervention to prevent permanent tissue damage.
