Osgood-Schlatter disease

Osgood-Schlatter disease is an overuse injury characterized by inflammation of the patellar tendon insertion on the tibial tuberosity, commonly seen in adolescents during growth spurts, especially those involved in sports. It matters clinically as it can cause knee pain and limit physical activity, impacting a young athlete's performance and quality of life. A key association is repetitive stress from activities like running or jumping, which can lead to tenderness and swelling at the site.
