Seronegative spondyloarthropathies are a group of inflammatory rheumatic diseases characterised by the absence of rheumatoid factor and primarily affecting the axial skeleton and entheses. Clinically important for their chronic pain and progressive joint damage, they often present with extra-articular features. Ankylosing spondylitis is a key example, strongly associated with HLA-B27.
