A tibial/fibular stress fracture is a small, incomplete crack in the tibia or fibula caused by repetitive mechanical stress exceeding the bone’s capacity to remodel. It is clinically important as it commonly presents with localized pain in athletes or military recruits, requiring early diagnosis to prevent progression to a complete fracture. Delayed or missed diagnosis can lead to chronic pain and prolonged disability.
