Raised intracranial pressure (ICP) is an abnormal increase in the pressure within the skull due to excess cerebrospinal fluid, brain swelling, or mass lesions. It is critical to recognise as it can reduce cerebral perfusion, leading to brain ischaemia and herniation. Commonly associated with traumatic brain injury, raised ICP requires urgent management to prevent irreversible neurological damage.
