Urine casts

Urine casts are cylindrical structures formed from proteins and cells that precipitate in the renal tubules, often indicating underlying kidney pathology. Their presence in urine can help diagnose conditions such as glomerulonephritis or acute tubular necrosis, as different types of casts correlate with specific renal diseases. For instance, red blood cell casts are typically associated with glomerular injury, highlighting the importance of urine analysis in assessing renal health.
