Hyperplastic nodule

A hyperplastic nodule is a benign growth resulting from an increase in the number of cells in a tissue, often due to chronic irritation or hormonal stimulation. In clinical practice, these nodules can be significant as they may mimic malignant lesions, necessitating careful evaluation through imaging or biopsy. A common example is a hyperplastic nodule in the thyroid gland, which can be associated with conditions like Hashimoto's thyroiditis and may require monitoring for changes.
