Desmopressin

Desmopressin is a synthetic analogue of vasopressin, primarily used to treat conditions such as diabetes insipidus and nocturnal enuresis by promoting water reabsorption in the kidneys. Its clinical significance lies in its ability to manage these disorders effectively, reducing symptoms and improving quality of life. A key association is its use in patients with von Willebrand disease, where it enhances the release of von Willebrand factor, aiding in hemostasis.
