« Back to Glossary Index

The lateral right atrium (RA) refers to the outer wall of the right atrial chamber of the heart, which receives systemic venous blood via the superior and inferior venae cavae. Its structural and electrical properties are critical in maintaining normal cardiac rhythm and efficient blood flow. Abnormalities or scarring in this region can contribute to arrhythmias such as atrial flutter, impacting clinical management and intervention strategies.
