Spinal fusion

Spinal fusion is a surgical procedure that joins two or more vertebrae to eliminate motion between them, stabilising the spine. It is used to treat conditions like degenerative disc disease, spinal instability, or deformities, reducing pain and preventing neurological damage. A key complication is adjacent segment disease, where increased stress accelerates degeneration of nearby spinal levels.
