Tendinopathy is a chronic disorder of a tendon characterised by pain, swelling, and impaired function due to failed healing and degenerative changes rather than acute inflammation. It matters clinically because it often causes persistent disability and challenges in management, especially in athletes and manual workers. A common example is Achilles tendinopathy, which can lead to tendon rupture if untreated.
