TNF inhibitors

TNF inhibitors are biologic drugs that block tumour necrosis factor-alpha, a cytokine central to inflammation and immune responses. They are crucial in treating autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis by reducing inflammation and preventing joint damage. However, their immunosuppressive effect increases the risk of infections, notably reactivation of latent tuberculosis.
