Amphetamine

Amphetamine is a central nervous system stimulant that increases the release of neurotransmitters, particularly dopamine and norepinephrine, leading to heightened alertness, concentration, and energy. It is clinically significant for its use in treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy, but it also carries a risk of abuse and dependence. A key complication associated with amphetamine use is cardiovascular issues, including hypertension and increased heart rate.
