Unsteady gait is an abnormal walking pattern characterised by a lack of coordination, balance, or stability, often resulting in a wide-based, staggering, or hesitant walk. Clinically, it signals underlying neurological, musculoskeletal, or vestibular dysfunction, requiring prompt evaluation to prevent falls. It is commonly associated with cerebellar ataxia, which impairs motor control and balance.
