Pulmonary hypertension is a condition characterised by elevated blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries, leading to increased resistance to blood flow through the lungs. It is clinically important because it can cause right ventricular strain and heart failure if untreated. A key association is its frequent occurrence in chronic lung diseases, complicating prognosis and management.
