A lipid profile is a blood test measuring cholesterol fractions—total cholesterol, LDL, HDL—and triglycerides to assess lipid metabolism. It guides cardiovascular risk evaluation and management by identifying dyslipidaemia, a major modifiable factor in atherosclerosis development.
