Pulmonary oedema

Pulmonary oedema is the accumulation of excess fluid in the alveoli and interstitial spaces of the lungs, leading to impaired gas exchange and respiratory distress. It is clinically significant as it can result from various conditions, including heart failure, pneumonia, or acute respiratory distress syndrome, and may require urgent intervention. A key complication is hypoxia, which can lead to organ dysfunction and increased morbidity if not promptly addressed.
