Rhabdomyolysis

Rhabdomyolysis is a pathological condition characterized by the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to the release of myoglobin and other intracellular components into the bloodstream. It is clinically significant due to its potential to cause acute kidney injury, electrolyte imbalances, and systemic complications. A common association is intense physical exertion, particularly in untrained individuals, which can precipitate muscle damage and subsequent rhabdomyolysis.
