Inactivity refers to a sustained state of minimal or absent physical movement and exercise, leading to reduced metabolic and cardiovascular function. Clinically, it is significant as it contributes to muscle atrophy, insulin resistance, and increased risk of chronic diseases. Prolonged inactivity is strongly associated with complications such as deep vein thrombosis and cardiovascular morbidity.
