Myeloma

Myeloma, specifically multiple myeloma, is a malignant plasma cell disorder characterised by the proliferation of abnormal plasma cells in the bone marrow, leading to the production of monoclonal immunoglobulins. It is clinically significant due to its association with bone lesions, renal impairment, and immune dysfunction, which can complicate patient management. A key complication is hypercalcaemia, resulting from bone resorption and contributing to various systemic symptoms.
