Syncope

Syncope is a transient loss of consciousness due to a temporary reduction in cerebral blood flow, often resulting from vasodilation, bradycardia, or hypovolemia. It is clinically significant as it can indicate underlying cardiovascular or neurological disorders, necessitating further evaluation to prevent potential complications such as falls or serious injuries. A common association is vasovagal syncope, which can occur in response to stress, pain, or prolonged standing.
