haemorrhage

Haemorrhage is the escape of blood from damaged blood vessels into surrounding tissues or external spaces, resulting from vessel rupture or injury. It is clinically significant because uncontrolled bleeding can lead to hypovolaemia, shock, and organ failure, requiring prompt diagnosis and intervention. A key complication of haemorrhage is intracranial bleeding, which can cause increased intracranial pressure and neurological impairment.
