Full blood count

A full blood count (FBC) is a laboratory test measuring the concentration and characteristics of blood cells, including red cells, white cells, and platelets. It is essential for diagnosing anaemia, infections, and haematological disorders, guiding treatment decisions. For example, a low haemoglobin level on FBC indicates anaemia, prompting further investigation.
